Abanyala in Osieko Region and Majimbo

The Abanyala are Bantu speaking people occupying areas in Busia county,Western Kenya.

Several sub-clans are found on the peripheries bordering Busia and Siaya county.They are:Abanyenjra (wanyenjra), Abamuri (Wamuhuri), Abalwanga (Walwanga), Abawiri (Kowili) ,Abakhumachi (Wahumadhi), Abakamresi (Kamresi), Abagoma,Wahundha, Avalwani (Wabulwani), Abasenge (Wasenge) and Abayipi (Wayipi) etc. 

The  above mentioned clans form part of a larger community known as the Abanyala.

The  surrounding and neighboring communities refer to them as jo-manyala-this translates as the Abanyala community.
